Matthew Von Doran Guitar Lessons & Backing Tracks
Hailing from Germany, Matthew Von Doran grew up in Washington D.C., Canada and LA, he followed the traditional guitar route of Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin before being caught up in the fusion scene after hearing a Mahavishnu Orchestra composition. From here Von Doran went down the route of Al Di Meola, Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Bill Frisell before attending GIT. "Through the '80s, Von Doran made a living playing guitar in strictly non-jazz settings while still maintaining his love of jazz. As he explains, ""After I left GIT I got out there and started being a working musician, playing in various kinds of Top 40 bands and doing different things to make a living while being a closet jazzer. I was basically playing Top 40 for a living and working on jazz stuff at home but not really ever getting out there and playing jazz on the gig.""" Matthew's LickLibrary career currently consists of one DVD, Making the Fretboard Work For You, and a collection of web lessons continuing on the path of fretboard mastery. If you constantly find yourself lost when improvising, then Matthew is the man to help you out of your rut.
