Welcome to Stuart Bull’s Blues Licks: Volume 2! This complete Blues guitar lick course is designed to provide you with great everyday blues guitar licks to learn, play and enjoy. Blues guitar solos can often be confined to a small number of popular keys which can sometimes overlook the use of open strings. These open strings in the lesser used keys can help create fresh and interesting sounds within your blues guitar solos as well as opportunities for blues guitar compositions not always heard in mainstream blues songs and instrumentals. The idea here is to create a learning tool that not only increases your blues guitar soloing and playing vocabulary but also helps improve guitar fretboard knowledge and awareness. The system works like this: In Volume 2, the remaining six keys chromatically from D# to G# (Volume 1 features the first six keys chromatically from A to D) are used here and the five blues scale positions are utilized in each key. One guitar lick per position is provided and taught for each key giving you five useable blues guitar licks per key and a total of thirty licks in all. Each blues lick is also analysed to give you an insight into how these licks are created and used. Music and tablature is also available for all thirty of Stuart‘s excellent blues guitar licks. One blues guitar backing track per key is included to jam along to and explore. Each blues guitar lick is visually played to the track to provide a point of reference as to how the lick sounds in context.
