Sonic Youth milk it in Starbucks
American alt-legends Sonic Youth have stunned their fans by announcing the release of a new compilation album… through Starbucks. The album is due to feature at least one new Sonic Youth track and will be available for sale throughout the Starbucks chain.

Announcing the song as “something different, something new,” Jones launched into his version on stage at the new Wembley Stadium which was hosting a special concert celebrating the life of Princess Diana. The concert also starred Lilly Allen, Kanye West, Status Quo and Elton John, though thankfully neither Elton nor the Quo decided to tackle Fake Tales of San Francisco or Mardy Bum.

Coming next month: shocking news that the next Radiohead album will be exclusively available through McDonalds…
