Never mind the Concert For Diana or Live Earth
– July 9th is the date when the new Wembley Stadium will
really get put through its live music paces as Metallica
thunder into town for the stadium’s first ever metal gig.
The bill just got heavier as well, with Metallica’s Bay
Area buddies Machine Head joining the party as the main
support act.
Machine
Head guitarist Phil Demmel is understandably quite excited.
“"Holy Crap!!!” he enthuses. “A monstrous cherry just
got plopped on top of our already huge European festival
run pie, in the shape of the Metallica show at Wembley
Stadium. Are you effin' kidding me?!? We couldn't have
asked for a better ending to this amazing ride through
Europe than to play with our Bay Area brothers at this
legendary venue. WOO HOO!!”
With only a handful of seated tickets still available
at £40, fans will be able to see Machine Head on stage
at 5.15pm. See www.livenation.co.uk for details.
